Ten Days to Halloween: Fill a Tree With Bats, Light the Garage and Drape Your Bedroom Ceiling
Halloween is ten days away, and the last-minute searches are the ones that move fastest. On Pinterest, homemade Halloween decorations for outdoors are up 300% month over month, Halloween window art is up 500%, and “fabric ceiling” jumped 2000% in a single week. Christmas tree ideas for 2026 keep climbing underneath it all. Here are five finds, one for each.
The tree, and eighteen bats. The fastest outdoor decoration is the one you hang once. This set has 18 flying bats in three sizes, 15, 11 and 8 inches wide, cut from waterproof plastic so they survive rain. Tie them to a branch at different heights with the fishing line in the pack and stick on the eyes. 4.4 stars from 497.
The garage door, and a witch at her cauldron. Halloween window art without any painting: this projector has 12 patterns, including a skull, a spider, pumpkins and a witch, in three colour modes, with a remote and a 2 or 4 hour timer. Stake it in the lawn and aim it at a window, a garage door or the side of the house. 4.6 stars from 168.
The path, and a witch that charges herself. This metal witch is a flat silhouette with a pointed hat, a tattered cloak and glowing green streaks, holding a solar lantern that cycles through seven colours after dark. It switches on at dusk and runs 10 to 12 hours, so there is nothing to plug in. Push the stake into a flower bed beside the path. 4.4 stars from 554.
The bedroom, and a ceiling made of fabric. A fabric ceiling sounds like a big project and is not. This ivory panel is 31 inches wide and 20 feet long with a soft shimmer, enough to swag from a ceiling light to each corner. Hang it with removable hooks, tuck a string of fairy lights behind it, and the room looks like a hotel. 4.6 stars from 228.
The tree, and a bow for every branch. Bows are the trend inside the 2026 tree trend. This set has 18 burgundy velvet bows, each 5 by 7 inches with 1-inch ribbon and long tails, pre-tied on a gold wire so they clip onto a branch in seconds. Use them on a tree, a garland or a wreath. 4.6 stars from 106.
If you only do one thing today, hang the bats. It takes ten minutes, costs about ten dollars, and it is the first thing the street sees.
